Grandmother dies after yobs pelt her house with rocks
A WIDOWED grandmother collapsed and died after yobs pelted her house with rocks and stones.
Joyce Moulson, 84, was making dinner for her grandson when a rock crashed into her home in Wibsey, West Yorks, in November last year.
The agitated pensioner told a neighbour “someone just got my front door window” before collapsing seconds later, an inquest at Bradford Coroner’s Court heard.
She could not be fully revived and died in hospital later that evening.
Four youths aged 12 and 13 were arrested, but police said they lacked evidence to press criminal charges.
Giving evidence, forensic pathologist Dr Matt Lyall said heart disease had caused the death, but emphasised that the stress of the incident had probably contributed.
But Assistant Deputy Coroner Mary Burke said yesterday: “It cannot be clearly established that there is a definite link”. He recorded a narrative verdict.
