Miracle guy Swayze’s in great shape
LOOKING fit and toned, heart-throb Patrick Swayze went back to work yesterday.
The actor, 55, has continued to beat the odds by getting stronger every day despite being given weeks to live in January.[>
[>
He is still slender but looks much healthier than the haggard figure that was pictured after he was diagnosed with early stage pancreatic cancer.[>
[>
Swayze has now started filming a new FBI-inspired TV series, The Beast.[>
[>
And the Dirty Dancing star is well aware that his recovery is nothing short of exceptional.[>
[>
As he flew into Chicago for filming at the weekend, he told waiting photographers that he felt like “a walking miracle”.[>
[>
Later, beaming broadly, the actor enjoyed a meal out with wife Lisa Niemi and their two dogs.[>
[>
The couple dined at health food restaurant Grocer and Goddess where staff hardly recognised the Hollywood star.[>
[>
One of the waitresses said: “At first I had no idea he was here. He came in wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, very low-key.[>
[>
“After a while, I worked out who he was and I must say he was an absolute gentleman.”[>
[>
On Sunday, the night before filming started, producers from Sony Pictures treated the cast of The Beast to a pre-filming party at Chicago eaterie Luxbar.[>
[>
Again, waiters were slow to notice the star, which they put down to his weight loss and good manners.[>
[>
One staff member said: “He’s definitely not the Patrick Swayze from his Roadhouse days, but he looks really good considering his condition and he couldn’t have been nicer.”[>
[>
Swayze has been steadily putting on weight and is following a fruit and vegetable-packed diet that includes daily smoothies made from ginger. He has also been undergoing pioneering Cyberknife radiotherapy at a Los Angeles clinic.[>
[>
Swayze plays an “unorthodox FBI veteran” in The Beast, working undercover as he trains a detective.[>
