WATCH: Speedster jailed after filming himself driving 192mph with his daughter in the car
A NORTHAPMTON man has been jailed for dangerous driving after he recorded himself driving at 192mph.
Shaun Davis filmed himself on several occasions in different cars
Shaun Davis was arrested by police for other offences (which are still outstanding) and, when they studied his mobile phone, found evidence of him driving a number of performance cars at high speed, including a Nissan GT-R, BMW M5 and Audi RS6. The 192mph Davis reached in the GT-R is believed to be the highest ever recorded by a speeding motorist in Britain.
Northampton Crown Court was told that Davis had filmed himself speeding on a number of occasions on Northamptonshire roads, including the A45, between 2012 and 2014. It also heard that Davis, of Woodpecker Drive, had shown “no regard for the safety of other motorists, pedestrians or himself”.

Despite denying all charges, the 42-year-old was jailed for 28 months after being found guilty of four counts of dangerous driving. He was also handed a 10-year driving ban and must take an extended re-test before requalifying for his licence.
DI Greg Maides of Northamptonshire Police, said officers found “multiple videos” on Davis’s mobile phone after he was arrested earlier this year.
His daughter is also seen in the video encouraging her father to speed

He said footage showed him “driving grossly in excess of the maximum national speed limit with no regard for the safety of other motorists, pedestrians or himself”.

He added: “We are satisfied with the result, and hope that this will serve as a deterrent to him in the future.
Davis’ daughter Jordan, 23, was also convicted of encouraging dangerous driving and was given a two-year driving disqualification and an 18-month conditional discharge. Police said the footage – some of which was even uploaded to YouTube – showed her encouraging her father to drive at excessive speeds.
