Unluckiest ex-boyfriend in the world? Grant Robertson split from lottery winners' daughter
David and Carol Martin from Hawick, Scotland, won half of Saturday’s record-breaking £66m jackpot but while the couple are over the moon, others are thinking about what could have been.
Grant Robinson, 28, from Jedburgh, dated the couple’s daughter Lucy, who now lives in Melbourne, Australia until the pair broke up seven years ago.
The Martin’s immediately forked out for a first-class flight to bring their daughter home to celebrate and Mr Robinson’s friends were quick to remind him of what could have been.
Friend Craig Tibbets uploaded an old picture of a shocked-looking Mr Robinson captioned: “When you realise your ex-girlfriend’s parents just won £33million on the lottery!”
Despite Mr Robinson now appearing to live in Canada, his friends were quick to comment on the jackpot.

Liam Wallace said: “Coulda been driving about in a Ferrari Robbo.”
Billy Miller also chimed in, saying: “Next flight home? Grant Robinson make amends.”
Clearly able to take a joke, Mr Robinson has now changed his profile picture on Facebook to the funny snap of him looking surprised.

Ms Martin’s parents went public with their windfall earlier this week.
After overcoming their shock by drinking several cups of tea, they called their 26-year-old daughter Lisa in Australia.
“She couldn’t believe it and thought we were pulling her leg,” Mr Martin laughed.
They are planning to fly Lisa home to Scotland this weekend as they plan how to spend their millions.
