WINNER announced for £33m Lottery jackpot - and it's NOT washing machine gran
A WINNER has been announced for the unclaimed £33million Lottery jackpot.
The revelation dashes the claim of Susanne Hinte (r)
Lottery operators Camelot said they received a valid claim for the enormous jackpot.
However, the winner decided to remain anonymous.
It dashes the claim of a local grandmother who claimed she had put her winning ticket through the wash.
Susanne Hinte, 48, told reporters she had washed her ticket by accident.
Ms Hinte presented a crumpled ticket (l) to support her claim
The winner came from Worcester (pictured) but chose to remain anonymous
She said all that remained of the disintegrating ticket were the winning numbers and half a date.
The crumpled stub lacked the identifying information necessary for Camelot to verify a claim.
Nothing is known about the new millionaire except that he or she comes from Worcester.
Camelot appeals for second Lotto winner to come forward
It solves the mystery of who won the other half of the £66million jackpot.
David and Carol Martin, from the Scottish Borders, had already come forward to claim the first half of the winnings earlier this month.
The second winner took an unusually long time to come forward, for reasons which remain a mystery.
When new millionaire did not step forward immediately, Camelot intensified the hunt by announcing the area where it was bought.
Express.co.uk understands the winner came forward in the past few days.
