INCREDIBLY two people emerged alive from this terraced house blown apart by a suspected gas blast yesterday.

The man had serious burns but a woman was unhurt.
Dramatic pictures of the aftermath revealed total destruction inside after the property’s roof and upper walls were ripped apart.
Two other houses were damaged by the explosion and fire in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Next-door neighbour Tracy Clayton said: “We just heard and felt this huge explosion. In our back room everything fell on top of us. The roof gave in.
"There was smoke everywhere, bricks flying.
“I think the neighbour who was blown up was on fire. He ran up the street screaming.”
Another resident Azim Mohammed added: “We heard the bang and we thought a car had exploded.
“Then we came out and saw that two houses had collapsed.”
