Evil killer 'close to death'
ONE of the country’s most notorious killers is expected to die in prison within weeks after being struck down by a deadly disease.
Donald Neilson, 72, alias the Black Panther, was once one of Britain’s most wanted men, waging a reign of terror which resulted in five murders.
His most notorious crime was the kidnap and murder of teenage Shropshire heiress Lesley Whittle in 1975.
Former soldier Neilson imprisoned her in a drainage shaft where she was found strangled.
The killer has motor neurone disease and looks set to die in Norwich prison.
A prison source said: “He will be lucky to see Easter.”
