Tree killed prodigy
A GIFTED teenage musician was killed by a one-ton branch that fell from a “high risk” tree which the council had been warned to cut down, an inquest heard yesterday.
The 20ft bough plunged onto 16-year-old Grace Turner’s family car in which she was returning from a concert. The “brilliant” Grade 8 piano and viola player died three days later.
Plymouth coroner Andrew Cox recorded an accidental verdict on Grace, of Ivybridge, Devon, and called for an overhaul of tree monitoring.
