A six-year-old boy was the lone survivor after his mother, father and younger brother were brutally murdered in a mall shooting.
William Cho, six, was enjoying a day out with parents Kyu Cho and Cindy Cho and three-year-old brother James when a gunman opened fire at customers inside the Allen Premium Outlets mall in Texas.
The six-year-old was also injured in the shooting but was released from the ICU earlier this week and is "recovering well, according to Medical City Health.
William's extended family is now taking care of the young boy as they mourn his parents and brother.
Speaking to ABC News, they said: "Our hearts are broken for our beloved family members who are no longer with us.
"All of our attention is now focussed on ensuring William leads a happy, healthy life with his extended family."
They described James as an adorable child with a love for elephants. Teacher Trinity Whitley described him as "brilliant", saying she had "never actually met a three-year-old that smart."
Kyu Cho worked as an immigration lawyer and used his personal experience with moving to the United States to better help his clients, according to his profile at Porter Legal Group.
The company praised Cho for his work in a touching Facebook tribute: "Although Kyu had only been with our firm for a year, it was immediately apparent that he is one of the most thoughtful, caring and considerate people we have ever had the pleasure to know and work alongside.
"He was that way as a leader, mentor, and friend at our organisation too. He was loved and respected by his and our entire team."

Cindy Cho worked as a dentist in Dallas and was remembered as a dedicated professional with a kind heart.
Family members set up a GoFundMe to support William and the page already collected £1.4 million ($1.8 million) within three days of his extended family setting it up.
The page said: "We are deeply grateful and sincerely appreciate this outpouring of love and prayers from all around the country.
"William is recovering well. Both Kyu and Cindy's families will use these funds to help William continue the legacy of his parents.
The Chos were among the eight victims killed in the Allen shopping mall shooting on May 6.
The family added: "William just celebrated his 6th birthday four days prior and James is 3.
"An afternoon that should have been filled with light, love and celebration, unfortunately, was cut short by another mass shooting massacre that left eight victims dead.
"Cindy, Kyu and three-year-old James were among those victims that tragically lost their lives and the family is in deep mourning.
"After being released from the ICU, their six-year-old son William is the only surviving member of this horrific event."
