Britain's BARMY weather strikes again: ‘Apocalyptic’ hailstorms and a TORNADO hits the UK
BRITAIN’S barmy weather has struck AGAIN as the country was hit by an "apocalyptic" hour-long hailstorm, a tornado and glorious sunshine all within the space of 24 hours.
Britain has been hit by barmy weather again
A mini tornado ripped through the streets of Stoke this afternoon, wreaking havoc through areas of Wolstanton and May Bank while causing damage to buildings and cars.
The thunder and lightning gave way to huge gusts of wind, which blew tiles off roofs and toppled walls.
In North Wales, a twister several hundred feet high which formed near the Gwynt y Môr offshore windfarm was captured on camera.
Elsewhere, in Sussex, skies of blue and rays of sunshine turned to darkness and a staggering hail storm.

I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s totally crazy
Resident David Patrick, 40, said he has “never seen anything like it before” after Burgess Hill was struck by an hour-long pelting of frozen rain he described as apocalyptic.
The father-of-two told Express.co.uk: ”It had been a beautiful sunny day.
“I was playing tennis with my son in the garden and at about six o' clock this black cloud kind of came over and it hailed solid, really heavily, like sheets and sheets of hail for over an hour.
“I’ve never seen anything like it.
“It’s totally crazy and it’s left Burgess Hill like prisoners - everything is under a blanket of snow. The garden and my car is covered in snow. “
He added: “When I went in the car, it was like driving through a blizzard. The cars are sliding around on the road.
“It’s more snow than we’ve had all year.”

The capital was also hit by lightning over Earlsfield in London.
It is not the first time this week the UK has been struck by freak weather.
Social media went into meltdown after arctic winds, sleet and snow fell on the streets of London yesterday - in the middle of glorious sunshine.
The unseasonable cold is expected to last at least until the weekend with some forecasters predicting bitter conditions through May.
