The shocking truth of fast-food America
THE invention of McDonalds and Burger King has earned them the reputation of fast-food lovers.
And this image, which shows there are 13,000 McDonalds restaurants across America, does nothing to disprove it.
The map, covered in thousands of orange dots, indicates the distance you have to go if you're craving a Big Mac Stateside.
Which, judging by this startling picture, isn't very far.
In the eastern states, around Mississippi, Maine and Virgina, there are hundreds surrounding the highways and highly-populated areas.
But bizarrely in western America, it takes a little longer to get your hands on some chicken nuggets.
The reason for this, as creator and American blogger Stephen Von Worley explains, is because of the less densely-populated desert and hilly areas such as Nevada and South Dakota.
Amazingly, he even notes the McFarthest spot in the region of South Dakota - where you would have to drive 145 miles to see the golden arches.
