Motorist runs into ‘Wild’ West wallaby
A MOTORIST was stunned when he came face-to-face with a wallaby – on a lane in the West Country. Peter Glaser, 59, was driving near his home when he spotted the creature – normally found in the Australian outback – hopping along in St Breward, Cornwall.
He said: “I couldn’t believe it. I was nearly home when I saw it right in front of me. I got quite close – he’s not too shy that’s for sure. I could look right into its eyes.”
The wallaby is thought to be one of a family of three living wild in the area and Peter later found a female with a baby in her pouch.
