Tractor destroys drive-thru at McDonalds
A TRACTOR driver caused thousands of pounds worth of damage after he found himself in need of a quick bite to eat.
A German tractor driver visited McDonalds for a quick snack but caused thousands of pounds worth of damage when is huge tractor fitted with plough at the front smashed its way through the skinny drive-thru.
Benji Bauer, 17, from Velbert had borrowed the tractor from a farm where he worked to drive down the road to the restaurant and grab a snack.
He said: "I thought that the drive thru would be able to accommodate a tractor - but I was wrong."
He drove the 12 tonne tractor into the restaurant knocking down rubbish bins, signs and plants designed to make the fast food restaurant look nice.
A police spokesman told the Austrian Times: "When he realised what he had done he tried to drive off - but in the tractor he didn't get very far before he was caught."
The teenager now faces a £3,000 fine for the damage as well as charges of fleeing the scene of the accident.
