Dead keen to vote
SOUTH CAMBRIDGESHIRE District Council have been forced to apologise after sending voting papers to more than 500 dead people.
The papers were sent out so that tenants could vote for representatives on a housing association committee.
But officials accidentally sent 533 documents to people who had died.
A spokesperson said: “Due to an administrative error voting papers have been sent out to a number of people who have regrettably passed away.”
Officials have given a public apology and said the voting papers would be reissued and a new election held.
