Three US soldiers die in blast
Three US service members died when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, a Nato spokesman has said.
Colonel Wayne Shanks, a spokesman for Nato and US forces, said the deaths occurred on Tuesday but did not release any other details.
The bombing came amid a wave of attacks by Afghan insurgents against US and Nato forces in recent days, and increased the number of deaths among American troops in Afghanistan this month to 22.
August was the deadliest month for US forces since the war with the Taliban began in 2001.
