Doctors in grand jury quiz
AS many as 25 doctors and pharmacists could be called to testify in the Michael Jackson case, says a police source.
Jurors have already heard evidence in secret from Nicole Alvarez, girlfriend of the singer’s personal physician Dr Conrad Murray.
Now the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office is planning to use a grand jury to question every doctor involved with Jackson since 1989, and determine if anyone should be charged.
The office confirmed yesterday that Jackson’s “entire drug history” is now being probed.
It has led to a huge, at times unfathomable, paper trail. The source said: “We are talking about thousands of prescriptions. Some records have been lost and some of those involved have not volunteered information.
“We believe the grand jury system can be used to question those who haven’t co-operatived under oath.”
