24 people killed in church collapse
At least 24 people have been killed and dozens injured after a church collapsed on them while they were sleeping in Nepal.
The victims had gathered for a Christian conference in eastern Nepal and had settled in for the night when the building came crashing down.
The town of Dharan is hosting a week-long conference and the delegates were in an extension made of bamboo and tin roofing, police official Arjun Khadka said.
Among those killed were 17 women and four children. A further 62 people were injured in the incident.which occurred about 240 miles south east of the capital Kathmandu.
Police are investigating the incident and the injured have been taken to the nearby BP Koirala medical college hospital.
Christians, who are a minority in predominantly Hindu Nepal, had gathered in Dharan from throughout the country.
