David Bossie, the adviser who oversees the President’s election challenges, tested positive for the virus on Sunday during a visit to the White House. The adviser was hired to manage the President’s legal challenges to states as he claims the election was “rigged”. Mr Bossie’s diagnosis is the latest Trump official who caught the virus, after a huge spread of COVID-19 in September and October in the White House.
Mr Bossie, 55, is the president of Citzen’s Untied, a conservative non-profit, and served as deputy campaign manager on Mr Trump’s 2016 run for President.
He has been spotted frequently at the Trump campaign headquarters in Virginia, and has travelled extensively in Arizona.
Bloomberg White House correspondent Jennifer Jacobs broke the news of the infection on Monday.
The adviser took over from White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who was also diagnosed with coronavirus which led to Mr Bossie’s appointment.

Ben Carson, housing and urban development secretary, and four other staffers have also fallen ill with the virus.
Mr Carson is being treated at Walter Reed Medical Centre in Washington DC, according to ABC News.
They quoted a source close to the politician who claimed he was “in good spirits and feels fortunate to have access to effective therapeutics which aid and markedly speed his recovery".
Mr Carson was reportedly at the White House on election night for an important event, leading to fears he could have spread the virus.
The new White House outbreak means that more than 50 people from the Trump administration have caught coronavirus.
In early October, a super-spreader event took place at the White House Rose Garden which led to a huge outbreak in the Trump Administration.
The President was hospitalised with the virus at the start of the month, along with First Lady Melania Trump and Barron Trump.
After being treated in Walter Reed, the President returned to the White House and described it as a “blessing in disguise”.

He said: “Policies matter, and President Trump’s policies are right for America.
“He stands for individual liberty, the Constitution, law and order, free-market capitalism, national security and American exceptionalism.
“Vote “no” on Biden’s dark winter. Vote “yes” for Trump’s bright future and save the American Dream.”
Mr Trump lost the election to Joe Biden, with the Democrat winning 290 electoral college votes to the President’s 214 according to the Associated Press.
