Bangkok: Medic hit by sniper
A VOLUNTEER medic was feared dead last night after being shot in the head in Bangkok.
The rescue worker was hit in the head by a sniper’s bullet, one of four victims shot on the third day of demonstrations in the Thai capital.
Fighting has left 17 people dead and 160 wounded since the Thai government cracked down on the anti-government demonstrators, known as the Red Shirts, four days ago.
The protesters are determined, however. One leader, Jatuporn Prompan, warned: “We shouldn’t even think about retreat when our brothers are ready to fight on.”
