3,000 evacuated amid Poland floods
Polish media are reporting that 3,000 people have been told to evacuate their homes in southern Poland after a river breached its banks.
The country is experiencing its second wave of massive flooding in weeks.
The news agency PAP quotes Slupiec village mayor Jan Sipior as saying the Vistula River had punched a 20-metre hole in an embankment and put several villages at risk.
He reportedly said people are not taking the danger seriously and are reluctant to leave their homes.
Last month many areas in Poland were hit by massive floods that killed 20 people.
Rainstorms in recent days mean other parts of the country are also at risk from possible floods.
