Top Burberry male model in ‘suicide’ leap
POLICE were last night investigating the apparent suicide of a catwalk model who fell 40ft to his death hours before Milan Men’s Fashion Week began.
Tom Nicon, 22, who worked for top fashion houses such as Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Hugo Boss, died instantly in the fall from an apartment window in the centre of the city.
Milan police were last night treating his death as suicide, and investigating suggestions he had had a “complicated affair of love”.
The 6ft 2ins Frenchman is said to have been depressed after recently splitting from his girlfriend. Designer Donatella Versace said: “He was with us on Friday morning for a final fitting. He seemed fine and calm. He was a sweet boy.
When we heard the news we were all so upset.”
