27 held over Turkey bus bomb attack
Turkish police have detained 27 people for questioning over a bomb attack in Istanbul in which five people were killed, the state-run news agency has said.
A Kurdish militant group linked to autonomy-seeking Kurdish rebels claimed responsibility for Tuesday's attack on a bus which was carrying military personnel and their families. The dead included the 17-year-old daughter of an officer.
The Anatolia news agency said police detained 27 people on Wednesday.
Istanbul Police Chief Huseyin Capkin confirmed that a number of suspects had been rounded up, but gave no other details.
Kurdish rebels have escalated attacks in Turkey in recent weeks. Seventeen soldiers have been killed in rebel attacks since Friday.
Authorities have stepped up security throughout the country.
