Hitler prison documents to be sold
A treasure trove of documents that have surfaced from the prison where Adolf Hitler was held in 1924 are to be auctioned in Germany.
Werner Behringer said the 500 documents will start at a price of 25,000 euro when put up for sale July 2 at his auction house in the Bavarian city of Fuerth.
Behringer says the documents from the Landsberg prison were recently found by a Nuremberg man among the possessions of his late father.
Hitler was imprisoned in Landsberg after the Nazi's abortive bid to seize power in 1923 in the notorious "beer hall putsch" coup attempt in Munich.
Among other things are several hundred index cards showing who visited Hitler when he was in prison, including WWI hero General Erich Ludendorff.
