Moment idiot on e-scooter is pulled over on motorway at TWICE drink drive limit
The young man has been arrested and charged for three different offences after he cheated death in "rubbish visibility and weather".
Police footage of an idiotic man riding an e-scooter on a motorway has been released online, prompting an array of shocked responses. The cops revealed the man was arrested and charged for three separate offences after they caught up with him on the motorway.
The young man was spotted by cops at 3am slowly making his way down the hard shoulder, at times coming dangerously close to the left lane. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed he was twice the drink drive limit.
He was arrested and charged for drink driving, driving without insurance, and being a learner driver on a motorway. In a tweet, the police warned that if it wasn’t dangerous enough, there was also “rubbish visibility and weather”, adding “you couldn’t write it!”.

The footage drew in plenty of responses, with one saying simply “unbelievable”, while another said: “What a div”. A third said the scooter rider had a “pea-sized brain with the one cell not functioning”, while a fourth added: “Unbelievable decision by this idiot! Thank you for sorting him out."
The man was using a private e-scooter - which government website says “is against the law”. It warns that if you use an e-scooter illegally, you could “face a fine”, “get penalty points on your licence” or have your e-scooter “impounded”.
Rental e-scooters, meanwhile, are being trialled in a number of areas around the UK. The maximum speed is limited to 15.5mph and all those using them must have a category Q entitlement on their driving license. Those with a provisional license do not need to show L plates when using an e-scooter.

Trial e-scooters can be used on roads - but not motorways - as well as cycle lanes. They cannot be used on pavements. Helmets are recommended but are not a legal requirement. Another key rule is that e-scooter riders “should not be drunk or otherwise intoxicated”.
The incident is not the first of its kind, and motorways have even been used by people in electric wheelchairs.
