US strikes Houthi anti-ship missiles in Yemen as conflict with Iran-backed rebels explodes
This is the latest military action against Iran-backed group over its targeting of Red Sea shipping.
The US military has carried out a new strike in Yemen targeting anti-ship ballistic missiles in a Houthi-controlled part of the country.
This comes as the latest military action against Iran-backed group over its targeting of Red Sea shipping. US officials said the strike targeted four anti-ship missiles, as reported by Reuters.
Last week, Joe Biden ordered air strikes targeting the Houthis in Yemen, but their attacks on Red Sea shipping continued. British forces also carried out dozens of strikes against radar and missile capabilities.
The Houthis currently control most of the Red Sea coast and haved said their attacks will continue if the death toll in Gaza keeps rising.
This comes on the heels of a Houthi strike on a US-owned vessel in the Gulf of Aden with an anti-ship ballistic missile.

The Gibraltar Eagle's said it was hit by an "unidentified projectile" while sailing 100 miles off the Gulf of Aden. The attack caused a fire in a hold carrying steel products, but no injuries were reported and the ship carried on its way.
The Houthi attacks continue to disrupt global shipping, create fears of global inflation and fallout from the Israel-Hamas war that could destabilize the Middle East.
