Desperate search begins to find tourists trapped in floodwaters after river's banks burst
The search and rescue operate is underway as reports emerge that tourists are trapped by floodwaters.
A desperate search to find missing tourists in camps in Kenya has begun.
Camps in over 14 spots in Talek, Narok have been submerged in water after the nearby Talek River's banks burst.
According to Kenya Red Cross's social media account on X, the the National and County Government of Narok, the Mara Elephant Project and community members are working together to understand how many people are missing.
So far, the account said, 36 people had been rescued by air.

A further 25 had been saved via an aqua rescue team.
In some of the camps tents have been swept away, the Red Cross added.
The Mara Bridge, which links the Mara Triangle and the Greater Mara, has also been washed away.
