According to a recent report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the country's road safety, the speed limit in South Korea is 50 km/h (31 mph) on general urban roads and 30 km/h in residential areas.
In 2022, pedestrians accounted for 35% of all road deaths in South Korea, a notably high percentage compared to other OECD countries, the agency reported.
However, the same report also highlighted that road fatalities in South Korea have declined in recent years.
