Andrew Neil has issued a withering assessment of Joe Biden's latest performance on the world stage, as Washington DC plays host to the latest official meeting of NATO leaders.
The president made two jaw-dropping gaffes which left senior Democrats visibly upset and drew the ire and ridicule of his critics on both sides of the pond.
Mr Biden, 81, had set up what was dubbed a "big boy press conference" on the sidelines of the NATO summit, where he spoke alongside Ukraine's President Zelensky.
Incredibly, however, when introducing the war-torn country's leader, he called him "President Putin". Later in the day, while talking up the presidential potential of Vice President Kamala Harris, Mr Biden referred to her as "Vice President Trump".
Reacting to the astonishing verbal missteps, senior British journalist Andrew Neil wrote on X: "President Biden’s much-touted 'Big Boy' press conference did little to allay fears he’s unfit to run again.
"At times he garbled his words and made blunders -such as accidentally referring to his vice-president, Kamala Harris, as 'Vice-President Trump'.
"Earlier he mistakenly introduced Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine’s president, as 'President Putin'. Three more Democratic lawmakers called on him to drop out shortly after he stepped off the stage."

The president is now odds-on to quit the office before the election campaign, according to UK bookmaker Ladbrokes.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "Joe Biden’s presidential campaign has gone from bad to worse. Last night’s major tongue slip at the NATO summit lit up the betting and as a result, the odds of him staying in the race has drifted massively.
"All eyes are now on Kamala Harris to save the Democrats."
