The incredible new train route taking 15 hours and connecting nine pretty cities

A new exciting train route is set to launch in 2025 and connect nine different cities twice a week during the winter months. 

European Sleeper, a night train service connecting several countries in the continent, is soon set to offer a new service that will take its passengers through many hotspots during a 15-hour trip. 

As many holidaymakers are planning winter sports holidays, city breaks in enchanting snow-covered cities and a visit to Venice for its yearly Carnival, this new route has been designed to provide more sustainable transport for travellers on these trips. 

The overnight journey will begin in Brussels and end in Venice, where the colourful Carnival is celebrated every February. 

Passengers will travel through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria before arriving at their final destination in Italy. 

Stops will be made in Antwerp, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Cologne, Munich, Innsbruck and Verona.  

The stop at Innsbruck, the gateway to the Austrian Alps, aims to facilitate winter sports holidays. 

The service will officially begin on February 5, and will operate twice weekly during February and March.  

If you’re thinking of taking a trip on this train, departure and arrival times are still being organised with the timetable expected to be released soon. Booking is expected to open on 1 September.

Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper, told Euronews: "Passengers will be able to board our train from Belgium and the Netherlands, and relax in the comfort of the restaurant car, while the train transports them through Germany and Austria, and across the Alps, ending in the historic cities of Verona and Venice the following day."
