700 hurt in Soweto train crash
More than 700 passengers have been hurt when a commuter train crashed while coming into a station in the South African township of Soweto.
The train crashed into a stationary train, seriously injuring 70 people.
The government's Railway Safety Regulator, which opened an investigation into the cause of the accident, said no one was killed. More than 700 had minor injuries.
South Africa's poor and unsafe transport infrastructure has sparked passenger protests.
Transport minister Sibusiso Ndebele called the latest crash "unfortunate" and said a multibillion-rand infrastructure improvement campaign is under way.
