Here is a look at Mrs Clinton's views on the best ways to fight ISIS and stop climate change, as well as her stance on abortion and gay marriage.
Clinton on… immigration
Bill Clinton's wife has called for immigration reform but has slammed the hard-line rhetoric used by her Republican rival Donald Trump.
The former New York Senator has instead pushed for the creation of a "path to citizenship" for undocumented immigrants living in America.
She also has pledged to close private immigrant detention centres and to end family detention for those that arrive at the border in desperation.
The former First Lady has said: “We have to finally, and once and for all, fix our immigration system – this is a family issue, it’s an economic issue too, but it is at heart a family issue."
Mrs Clinton says that immigration law enforcement should be both humane and targeted.

Clinton on… foreign policy
The former Secretary of State wants to step up the US operation against the Islamic State (ISIS) with more airstrikes, more troops and a Syrian no-fly zone.
Mrs Clinton has declared: “Our goal is not to deter or contain ISIS, but to defeat and destroy ISIS.”
The former First Lady backed America's landmark nuclear deal with Iran but remains sceptical of the Iranian regime.
If elected as president, she would invite Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House during her first month in office.
As secretary of state, Mrs Clinton advocated "smart power" - a combination of hard and soft power which included showing respect even for one's enemies.

Clinton on… environment
Mrs Clinton sees climate change as an urgent threat and plans to turn America into the "clean energy superpower of the 21st century".
Her plans include installing solar panels, increasing renewable energy, cutting US oil consumption and slashing greenhouse gas emissions.
Global warming is one of Mrs Clinton's key policies and she has confronted the Republican presidential hopefuls over their climate change scepticism.
She has said: "I won’t let anyone take us backward, deny our economy the benefits of harnessing a clean energy future, or force our children to endure the catastrophe that would result from unchecked climate change."
Mrs Clinton aims to generate enough renewable energy to power every home in America within just ten years in office.
Clinton on… same-sex marriage
The Democract, whose husband famously had affairs during his time in office, has only recently come out in support of gay marriage.
Mrs Clinton opposed same-sex marriage until 2013 and even backed Bill Clinton's Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage as the union of a man and woman.
But presidential candidate says her views have now "evolved" and she welcomed the Supreme Court's same-sex marriage decision last year.
Back in 2011, Mrs Clinton told the United Nations Human Rights Council that: "Gay rights are human rights."

Clinton on… healthcare
Mrs Clinton served in Mr Obama's administration and has defended his controversial healthcare reforms and Affordable Care Act.
If elected to the White House, the former Senator wants to build on Obamacare, reduce costs further and crack down on drug companies with excessively high prices.
During the presidential campaign, she has launched attacks on the Republican candidates over their attempts to repeal the act and get rid of Obamacare.
She has said: "I am not going to let them rip away the progress we made, I am not going to let them tear up that law, kick 16 million people off health coverage and force this country to start the health care debate all over again."
Mrs Clinton is pro-life and has argued that abortion should be safe and legal, but also rare.
