HOLLYWOOD officials say they will not remove Donald Trump’s star on the Walk of Fame despite it becoming a repeated target for vandalism.

The US presidential hopeful’s star has been trashed with graffiti including swastikas, mute symbols, crosses and even dog mess.
Others have spat on it or stamped on it in anger as the billionaire businessman makes his bid to be the Republican candidate.
However the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which runs the Walk of Fame, says it is not contemplating removing Trump’s star despite speculation.

President Leron Gubler said: “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark.
The Hollywood Historic Trust has been known to prosecute those who do major damage
“Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”
People thinking of vandalising the star were warned: “The Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs the stars, has been known to prosecute those who do major damage and they do have to pay restitution.”

The tycoon’s star was placed there in 2007, next to actor Kevin Spacey, following his work as host of the US version of The Apprentice in which he plays the ‘Alan Sugar’ role.
Since becoming a frontrunner for the Republican race, the controversial candidate’s star has become a tourist magnet, with people posing for photographs next to it.
But not all of the attention has been welcome.
