ANGELINA Jolie Pitt will deliver a major speech on the refugee crisis as part of a day of live programmes at the BBC.

The Hollywood star, who is married to Brad Pitt, is set to join the event called World On The Move, when BBC News will dedicate various shows to immigration.
In her capacity as a UN special envoy, the 40-year-old will deliver her speech in a slot hosted by the Today programme’s Mishal Husain.

It will be broadcast live on May 16 on Radio 4, BBC World Service and on BBC World News.

“The debate on the refugee crisis is often polarised and based on fear and misconceptions,” she said.
“We need to have a rational discussion that focuses on how we strengthen the systems designed to protect those fleeing war and persecution, while understanding the concerns of citizens in host countries.”
