What is the Iron Fist season 2 release date on Netflix?
Iron Fist season 2 will be released on Netflix on Friday September 7.
This was revealed during the Iron Fist panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and was confirmed in the trailer Netflix released on Thursday August 16.
The 10 episodes of the second series of the Marvel show will all be released at midnight California time, which means UK fans will have to wait until 8am to see the latest adventures of Danny Rand (played by Finn Jones).
Who is in the cast of Iron Fist season 2 on Netflix?
All of the principal cast are back for the second season of Iron Fist.
This means that the following characters are set to return: Danny Rand/Iron Fist, Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum) and Sacha Dhawan (Davos).
A new addition to the cast is Star Trek Into Darkness’ Alice Eve, who will star as new villain Typhoid Mary (AKA Mary Walker).
In the comics, Walker has a number of powers like mild telekinesis, pyrokinesis (making objects spontaneously combust) and being able to implant suggestions in people’s minds.
She balances with a severe mental illness that leads her to have multiple personalities.
The show will also welcome a crossover from Luke Cage and The Defenders.
At Comic-Con it was announced that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) will be appearing in Iron Fist for the first time.
What will happen in Iron Fist season 2 on Netflix?
The official Netflix summary is as follows: “Season 2 furthers the transformation of Danny, a character with a fish out of water coming of age story making his way in a harsh new world, battling to work out who he is.
“This season, Danny has promised that with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) gone, he will step up and protect his city.
“But a sinister plot twist threatens his very identity and he must conquers his villains to protect the town and people he holds close to his heart.”
In the comics, Typhoid Mary was an ex-lover of Murdock’s who frequently worked with Daredevil baddie The Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), suggesting that this season of Iron Fist might lead us into the upcoming Daredevil season 3.
Is there a trailer for Iron Fist season 2 on Netflix?
Yes. In fact, there are now two trailers for the upcoming TV show.
The first teaser trailer was released during the show’s Comic-Con panel, and saw Danny fighting in an alleyway.
