CORONATION STREET viewers could soon see a familiar character return in a storyline twist as actress Sally Dynevor has dropped a major hint about Rosie Webster’s potential comeback.
Lorraine: Sally Dynevor 'can't wait' for Flanagan's Corrie return
Coronation Street viewers have seen Sally Webster (played by Sally) banged up behind bars in recent scenes.
Whilst her family are keen to get her back home as quickly as possible, a shock return from daughter Rosie (Helen Flanagan) could be just around the corner.
Joining Lorraine Kelly on ITV earlier this morning, actress Sally spoke about her character's current storyline, saying: “What is the worst thing that could happen to Sally? It is going to prison!”
She also showed particular enthusiasm for Helen to come back to the soap.
“Do you think Rosie will come back any time soon?” Lorraine asked.
“Oh I hope so,” Sally began. “Do you know, I’d love her to come back. She’s wonderful isn’t it!”
Lorraine added how it would be nice to see Rosie back into the family fold as Sally remarked: “It’s great.
“Connie Hyde is playing my sister and she’s fantastic, and I’ve got Joe and Brooke and we’re having a great time!
“But Helen would be the icing on the cake, we can’t wait for her to come back.”
Could fans see Rosie return to the Street and get her mum out of prison?
Rosie’s last scenes were back in April when she left Weatherfield for pursue a modelling career in China.
Her exit storyline was because actress Helen was having another baby and since the birth of her daughter Delilah, she has not ruled out a return, but confirmed a few things need to happen before a comeback.
“I would love to come back,” she told Lorraine last month. “But it needs to be something that works around the girls.”
In upcoming episodes, viewers will see Sally decide to make the most of life in jail and comes up with a new idea for her inmates.
She will call a meeting with her fellow prisoners and announce her plans to speak to the governor about arranging some recreational classes.
With a positive response from the other women, she explains her idea to her family.
But their reaction takes her by surprise.
Gina will point out her mayoral days are over, and Sally takes deep offence.
Lashing out in anger, she will tell her sister not to visit her anymore.
Coronation Street returns tomorrow night at 7.30pm on ITV.
