Victoria season 3 spoilers: Laurence Fox revealed THIS co-star fell ASLEEP on set
VICTORIA returns with a brand new series and ahead of the show airing on television screens tonight, the newest actor to the cast has revealed a humourous moment on set.
Victoria: Jenna Coleman to return to screens in season three
Victoria is back and tonight ITV viewers will tune in to see the newest season return, full of drama.
Ahead of the first episode airing, Laurence Fox who plays the new foreign secretary Lord Palmerston has spoken out about a particular scene.
As a new character in the historical drama, the actor spoke about the scenes he shares with John Sessions who plays the Prime Minister John Russell.
“I love John Sessions, I’ve known him for years,” Laurence explained. “An yes he’s amazing, I saw a bit ad he never misses a trick.
“He’s fabulous! He did slightly take over and one or twice he would fall asleep in the House of Commons when I was speaking.
“But other than than, he’s a proper mast of decent comedy and he stooped me behaving too badly,” Laurence added.
Discussing their relationship and how it develops through the course of the series, Laurence explained the differences in personalities.
“[John] Russell, he’s a good, pragmatic, clever Prime Minister,” the actor revealed. “But he’s not a showman or a populist.
“And I’m [Lord Palmerston] a populist and like a cat playing with a mouse, Palmerston likes to see how far he can take it and that’s just what we did generally. He’s just a delight to work with.”
As for the relationship Lord Palmerston is going to have with Victoria (played by Jenna Coleman), it is fair to say the two do not meet eye to eye and he continually winds her up.
Speaking about the antagonist in her character’s life, lead actress Jenna said: “Yes, she hates Lord Palmerston. Like really hates him. She really doesn’t like him.
“I think it is a funny thing with Lord Palmerston, I actually think it’s a kind of jealousy in a way.
“She’s never really had a threat in terms of, she’s always been a champion of the people and had her audience.
“There’s somebody else [Lord Palmerston] who is very popular and wants the people, and one of the people she can’t write be,” Jenna continued.
“I think it’s quite an interesting dynamic, unlike Lord Melbourne (Rufus Sewell), who appealed to certain aspects, he [Lord Palmerston] doesn’t tell her [Victoria], he has his own root that he goes down.”
Once or twice he would fall asleep in the House of Commons when I was speaking.
Tonight, viewers are going to tune in to see 1848 and the revolutions across Europe in full swing.
Scenes will show a surprise visitor arrive at Buckingham Palace which will throw Victoria off her guard.
To make matters worse, she will welcome the King of France who had been recently dethroned by his people, much to the protest of the British public.
As the riots erupt, there will be a shocking moment in which scares the whole of the monarchy, will Victoria be able to salvage the faith of her people?
