Earlier this year, fans were left stunned after The Witcher’s lead actor, Henry Cavill confirmed his departure from the show.
After reports he would return to DC Universe and reprise his role as Clark Kent and Superman, Liam Hemsworth was confirmed to replace him as Geralt of Rivera.
Despite this, Henry will make his final appearance on The Witcher during the upcoming third season alongside Yennefer (played by Anya Chalotra) and Princess Ciri (Freya Allan).
Thankfully for fans, the showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich dropped major hints about Henry’s upcoming storyline.
Lauren stated: “Henry has given so much to the show and so we want to honour that appropriately.
“Geralt's big turn is about giving up neutrality and doing anything that he has to do to get to Ciri and to me, it's the most heroic sendoff that we could have, even though it wasn't written to be that.”
Although a release date for season three is yet to be confirmed, fans can expect the return of the main cast including Ciri’s father, Emhyr (Bart Edwards).
Despite being presumed dead, he made a jaw-dropping appearance during the season two finale.
Season three could also see more conflict arise between the Nilfgaard and the elves after their alliance took a tense turn.
The showrunner also provided a sneak peek into the new iteration of Geralt after Liam Hemsworth takes over.
Lauren added: "Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in season four.
“He's a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that's an understatement.”

In his lengthy statement, Henry confirmed his exit from the show and claimed he was “passing the torch” to the Hunger Games star.
Henry said: “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for season four.
“In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.
"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.
“Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”
Meanwhile, Liam took to social media to share his excitement for his season four appearance.
He wrote: “As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia.
"Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure.
“Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character.
“I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.” (sic)
