BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood details ‘absolutely perfect’ wedding as host returns
The much-loved BBC Breakfast weather presenter tied the knot with partner Steve Randall last month.
BBC Breakfast: Carol Kirkwood reflects on her wedding
On Monday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, fans welcomed back Carol Kirkwood to the show after the 61-year-old took some time off over the festive season. During that time, the weather presenter got married in an intimate ceremony in Buckinghamshire.
After sharing the weather forecast for the upcoming week, presenter Jon Kay couldn’t help but mention her nuptials. He commented: “Oh, Carol thank you so much, it’s so lovely to have you back. We’ve enjoyed seeing your wedding pictures so much over Christmas.”
As an image of Carol and her husband Steve appeared on-screen, Jon asked: “Have you just had the most fantastic time?” She replied: “Jon I cannot tell you how fabulous it’s been.
“You shouldn't really be talking like this about your own wedding, but it was blissful! It was romantic, it was absolutely perfect.
“I would not change a thing about the day. It was very small as well and intimate, so you didn’t have to worry that Auntie Nelly didn’t have a glass of sherry in her hand! It was brilliant.”
Jon teasingly asked: “Does that mean you had all the sherry?”
Carol burst into laughter as she replied: “Jon, you know me far too well.”
The BBC star shared a series of snaps of her big day on social media as she beamed in a gorgeous bardot-style floor-length gown.
With her hair in a glamorous up-do Carol posed next to her husband, who is believed to be 13 years her junior, as Steve opted for a sleek grey suit.

The 61-year-old tends to keep her private life out of the public eye, although she announced her engagement on BBC Breakfast back in 2022.
While visiting the Chelsea Flower Show, she gave viewers a glimpse at her ring as she detailed how her partner proposed.
At the time, she told hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent that he popped the question while on holiday.
She said: “We went out for a picnic, I had no idea!
“The weather was glorious. We were sitting, chatting, my other half was a wee bit nervous for some reason that I didn't know.
“He was fumbling in his pocket and out came a ring. I thought he was joking actually.
“I didn't believe him to start with but it was lovely - it was quite romantic.”
