Casualty is set to air some hugely dramatic scenes in the coming months after filming in a legendary location.
Casualty is set to air some dramatic underwater scenes in the coming months after taking to the legendary Pinewood Studios to film on its underwater stage. Michael Stevenson, who plays paramedic Iain Dean in the long-running BBC medical drama, teased fans about the upcoming drama, posting pictures from the location to his Instagram.
"Feeling pretty bloody lucky to have spent two days filming at the legendary @pinewoodstudios. This is a dream come true for me to be on a studio lot steeped in so much film history," he wrote alongside a selfie outside the underwater stage.
"Thank you to Dave Shaw and his underwater team for looking after me and making the whole experience an absolute joy! As always, thank you to the @bbccasualtyofficial crew for being the best, home and away! #pinewoodstudios #casualty." (sic)
His post implies that his character Iain will be at the centre of the action. However, as the show shoots around four months ahead, viewers will have to wait to see the fruits of his labour.
The scenes are unlikely to air before May. However, this didn't stop fans from commenting on their excitement and anticipation about what he'd been up to.
A user with the handle @altwood2016 wrote: "Just up the road from me @michaeltstevenson epic place, wow that’s some filming, can’t wait to see that episode. I’ll be holding my breath whilst watching."
@nickjon3006 concurred saying: "Ooh underwater stunts with Mr Dean can’t wait for that one." @shelly_ballinger_ agreed chiming in: "Looking forward to seeing what u get up to Michael xxx." (sic)
@deborahsue62 simoly exclaimed: "Sounds exciting!" Meanwhile @susieannie enquired: "When will see what you got up to?" (sic)
Iain is no stranger to taking part in aquatic stunts on the show. In 2022, in an episode called Now I Can Breathe, his character rescued a man from a freezing river.

Pinewood's underwater stage, which is the only one of its kind in Europe, has played host to a wealth of film and TV productions since it opened in 2005.
Tom Hopper shot some of his Oscar-winning epic Les Miserables there. It has also been used by films as diverse as the Da Vinci Code, Basic Instinct 2 and Woody Allen's Scoop to name just a few.
It is also regularly utilised by TV shows, including EastEnders, who have used it when they have underwater scenes.
In 2011 it was used for a Sport Relief special called Strictly Underwater, where two couples from that year's Strictly Come Dancing battled it out by dancing underwater.
Casualty is on BBC One on Saturday nights.
