ITV Dancing on Ice fans fume Ricky Hatton was 'robbed' of place on show
Former professional boxer Ricky Hatton and his skating partner Robin Johnstone became the first casualty of Dancing on Ice 2024 on Saturday night.
Dancing on Ice: Ricky Hatton eliminated from the show
Dancing On Ice viewers believe that Ricky Hatton’s time on the reality show was unfortunately cut short. The former professional boxer came up against comedian Lou Saunders in the dreaded skate-off.
Over the weekend Ricky, 45, became the first celebrity to be eliminated as he and dance partner Robin Johnstone failed to impress the ITV show’s judging panel. However, fans took to social media to claim that The Hitman was wrongly booted off.
One disgruntled viewer took to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: “Ricky Hatton robbed.” A second replied: “Fuming that Ricky Hatton got eliminated from Dancing On Ice.
“You were robbed, mate,” echoed another fan. Elsewhere, a fellow viewer joked: “Ricky Hatton can add that dancing on ice performance to his boxing loss record. After being KNOCKED OUT! 45-0-4.”
“Aww sad to see Ricky Hatton leave first, big signing gone so soon. At least (sic) he gave it a go #DancingOnIce,” replied a fifth.
A sixth said: commented: “So Ricky Hatton and Robin are the first couple to leave this year’s #DancingOnIce.
“But you have been entertaining Ricky with your boxing routine last week hope you keep on skating and at least you’re still smiling Robin.”
Ahead of his Dancing on Ice debut, the father-of-three revealed that he was “dreading” taking to the ice for the first time.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other outlets before his week one debut, Ricky said: “I was dreading it, we had the masterclass and Torvill and Dean were in the middle of the ice rink.
“You had to skate out to the middle bearing in mind, at that time I’d not done two steps, never mind go to the middle.
