Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Netflix live action remake, has nearly arrived and fans want to know everything there is about the upcoming series.
Once a popular 2005 Nickelodeon cartoon, Netflix first announced it would be bringing the show to life in September 2018 but its original creators stepped down in 2020.
Last year also pushed the start date back thanks to the Hollywood actors and writers’ strikes, but the wait is almost over.
Telling the tale of young Avatar Aang (played by Gordan Cormier), the action series sees him learn the four elements: Water, Fire, Earth and Air, in a bid to put an end to the Fire Nation’s reign.
So will Aang be able to take on this almighty challenge as the last ever Airbender?
How many episodes are in Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix?
Avatar: The Last Airbender makes its debut on Thursday, February 22, on Netflix.
It has been revealed that the action-packed drama is going to consist of eight episodes in total.
There will be no need to wait to find out how it ends either with all eight instalments dropping on the streamer on its initial release date.
Aang, the 12-year-old at the heart of the story, will be portrayed by young star Gordan Cormier.

Ahead of its Netflix release, Cormier said at Tudum: A Global Fan Event in Brazil: “Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action I feel like is going to bring everything you know and love about the original series back to life.
“And hopefully [it will] just bring a bunch of new fans who have never heard [of] the show before into this universe, and to me that’s pretty exciting.
“I’m a fan of the show personally, and I’m just as excited for this as you guys are.”
Cormier will be joined by the likes of Dallas Liu as firebending royalty Zuko, and waterbender brother and sister Katar and Katara by Sokka and Kiawentiio respectively.
This isn’t the first time Netflix will be adapting a classic cartoon into a live action remake.
The streamer has previously brought to life Cowboy Bebop, followed by the action series One Piece.
Only time will tell on how the series is going to be perceived with no talk as of yet on if a season two is going to be on its way.
Avatar: The Last Airbender premieres on Thursday, February 22, on Netflix.
