GMB: Spice Girls' anniversary is a 'distraction' for Geri Horner
Good Morning Britain viewers were left less than impressed as the ITV show spoke about the recent papped photograph of Kate Middleton. Although the programme decided not to show the image, due to privacy reasons, they discussed it at great length.
However, fans of the programme slammed the coverage as many took to Twitter to share their complaints. @jennetpile commented: “Maybe you should stop talking about her too. I did not know about the photo until I turned GMB on!”
@gorgerymil8 added: “Omg leave her alone. Why fuel this non-story?! They did say in Jan she'd not be working till Easter #gmb.” @VoxPopu07251706 raged: “Talking for 20 mins about a photo of someone in a car!”
@maw169 said: “Why are you just making this headline news this morning, you are just as bad as the paparazzi taking the photo. Let her recover without all this.” @GaryRut98383431 fumed: “You people need to wise up. There is more important news out there and you banging on about a photo.”
With @abebourne53 tweeting: “Get on with it. Royal gossip is not news.” The image in question reportedly shows Kate Middleton being driven by her mother in the front seat of a car near Windsor.
The royal has been out of the spotlight since the end of last year after undergoing abdominal surgery.
Kensington Palace released a statement in January informing the public Kate was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter while she recovers at home.
They stated the Princess of Wales wished to keep her medical information private and therefore would only give updates on her progress when there is significant new information to share.
Speaking about the photograph, Susanna Reid said: “I think a lot of people will think, ‘Well what’s the big deal she just got photographed?’ But, the big deal is as Jack [Royston] just eluded to, she will know there are photographers out there waiting for her.

“It is, I have to say, it’s not just like being hounded, it's like being stalked. There are people, she doesn’t know where they are, she can’t see them, she doesn't know their intentions.”
Although the GMB star highlighted the paparazzi’s main intention is to simply photograph the royal, Kate doesn’t know them.
She added: “They’re out there, they have long-range lenses. She simply doesn't know when, where, or how she’s going to be looking.
“How close they’re going to get, it’s a very unsettling experience.”
The photograph comes after Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night.
Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best questioned whether the royal will be watching the reality show as he joked: "If so it'll be behind a sofa!"
As the presenters tried to get more information on the royal’s whereabouts, he added: “It will be a nice one, in a nice house."
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
