To help you choose what to watch with this awesome deal, we’ve compiled a list of some of the very best TV shows and box sets on Sky that are available to binge-watch right now.
Succession
This acclaimed TV drama gripped the world and earned 19 Emmys across its four-season run. Succession follows the Roy family, owners of media company Waystar Royco, as patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) prepares to step down as CEO and looks to his children when deciding who his successor should be.
With varying degrees of involvement in the company, his four children fight, scheme and betray each other in the fight for control of the company. The complex storylines, smart narrative and complicated characters make this multi-award-winning series the powerhouse it is.
Ted
In early 2024, Ted, the loveable, foul-mouthed teddy bear from the hit movies of the same-name returned to screens in this seven-part prequel series. Set in 1993, viewers join Ted (Seth MacFarlane) after his moment of fame has passed.
He’s now living back home in Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder) and John’s parents and cousin. The series was a hit with fans and secured the biggest US comedy launch audience on Sky since records began in 2002, so if you are a fan of the movies this is definitely one to watch.
True Detective
This hit anthology series sees the “McConnaissance” – the revival of Matthew McConaughey’s career – in full swing as he stars in the first season alongside Woody Harrelson as a pair of Louisiana homicide detectives. Each season of the gripping crime drama – of which there are four, with the Jodie Foster-led fourth having aired earlier this year – welcomes new detectives who are tasked with investigating a grisly police case.
As each investigation takes place, the personal and professional secrets of those involved are uncovered. All four seasons are worth a watch but if you only have time for a couple, make it the first and last.
House of the Dragon
With the second season slated to premiere in June, there is no better time to catch up with this fiery fantasy series. Based on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire and Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
It takes place when the Targaryens are at the height of their power and tells the story of the great civil war that tore the family apart. Starring Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy, the first season received widespread critical acclaim and currently holds an impressive 93 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score.
Game of Thrones
With eight seasons to watch or – re-watch – Game of Thrones is the ultimate show to binge. Based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, it tells the story of nine noble families and their fight for control of the land of Westeros.
With a huge ensemble cast – many of whom became household names after starring in the show – and impressive storytelling, the series is one of the most successful fantasy shows ever. But be warned, some of the scenes are pretty graphic so not one to watch with the kids or the family.
Mary & George
Starring Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine as Mary and George Villiers, Mary & George is an audacious seven-episode historical psychodrama. The series is inspired by the explosive true story of Mary Villiers, who moulds her beautiful and charismatic son, George, to seduce the King and achieve immense power.
The pair rose from humble beginnings to achieve riches, titles and huge influence on the English court. It's a real stranger-than-fiction story that will shock and delight in equal measure.
The Jinx – Part Two
This new six-episode series is a continuation of the Emmy-winning documentary series The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, which debuted back in 2015. The first series was a huge hit and follows three mysterious deaths, all attached to the heir of a real estate empire.
In Part Two, the filmmakers track the eight years after the original series aired and continue their investigation, uncovering hidden material, Robert Durst’s prison calls and speaking to witnesses who had not come forward until now. Season two is currently airing, with new episodes launching weekly.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
For 24 years, Curb Your Enthusiasm has been regarded as one of the most intelligent and unique comedies thanks to improvised dialogue based on creator and star Larry David’s loose script outlines. Curb’s last ever episode aired in April, with all 12 seasons available to binge now with Sky Comedy.
Larry – who co-created the iconic US sitcom Seinfeld – is revered as one of comedy’s brilliant minds, with this acclaimed and award-winning series attracting a host of A-list guest stars including Vince Vaughn, Michael J. Fox, Christian Slater, Martin Scorsese, Jon Hamm and Ben Stiller. If you’re a fan of comedy, satire and social commentary, this one is for you.
Euphoria
This mesmerising American drama – created and written by Sam Levinson – follows the lives of a group of high school pupils as they navigate the complexities of teenage life. The series follows Rue Bennett (Zendaya), a troubled teenager who is battling a drug addiction.
Her peers come with problems of their own and over two seasons we see them grapple with their futures and all the worries that come with day-to-day teenage life. In addition to a stellar ensemble cast – which includes Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow and Sydney Sweeney – Drake serves as an executive producer while Labrinth composes the soundtrack.
With a bevy of accolades to its name and a third season in the works, Euphoria is worthy of a spot on any ‘Best Of’ list.
Boardwalk Empire
If you’re a fan of gangster TV shows, then this is one for you. This crime drama takes place in New Jersey’s Atlantic City in the 1920s when alcohol was outlawed and outlaws became kings. The series focuses on Enoch “Nucky” Thompson (Steve Buscemi), a powerful politician who controls the city whilst also running a bootleg alcohol operation.
The series received critical acclaim and numerous awards throughout its five-season run – including a whopping 20 Emmy wins. It also stars Kelly Macdonald, Michael Shannon and Stephen Graham.
The Office
Based on the British series of the same name, the US version of The Office was – and remains – a hit. The long-running comedy chronicles the everyday lives of office workers at Dunder Mifflin paper company, where each workday consists of inappropriate behaviour and personality clashes.
Filmed documentary-style, the series stars Steve Carell and John Krasinski, and is often referred to as one of the best sitcoms ever. With nine timeless seasons to watch, The Office is perfectly suited for a comedy binge.
Funny Woman
Based on Nick Hornby’s best-selling novel, this series stars Gemma Arterton as feisty Blackpool beauty queen Barbara Parker. Set in the swinging 60s, the series follows Barbara’s journey from Blackpool – where she’s the newly crowned Miss Blackpool Belle – to London where she dreams of becoming a performer.
With a second series on the way later this year, this is one for all the dramedy fans out there.
Gangs of London
Created by Gareth Evans – award-winning filmmaker of The Raid film franchise – the Sky Original series Gangs of London is a story of revenge and rivalry in London’s criminal underworld. When Finn Wallace (Colm Meaney) – one of London’s most powerful criminals – is assassinated, a sudden power vacuum is created causing ripples in the international crime world.
Featuring high-performance action sequences and brutal scenes, the show will have you glued to the screen in the best way possible. And with a third series in production, there’s no better time to get up to speed.
Alternatively, Disney+ offers a range of new shows, including the upcoming Star Wars series, The Acolyte and all-new and restored The Beatles film, Let It Be.
