The Chase's Bradley Walsh leaves viewers staggered with bizarre show admission
The Chase's Bradley Walsh was so shell-shocked by something he heard on tonight's show that the revelation left him exclaiming: "I know absolutely nothing!"
The Chase host Bradley Walsh left viewers stunned when he dismissed a correct answer on the ITV show as fake - and was then forced to backtrack. He was left open-mouthed when a contestant called Carol - and Chaser Darragh Ennis - both correctly guessed a species of fish that he thought was nothing more than a "red herring".
Hearing the question: "What species of catfish tricks other fish into raising its young for them inside their mouths?" He had to suppress laughter. "I think that's a trick question, I think that's a wind-up," he exclaimed, before confidently declaring that he didn't think cuckoo catfishes existed.
However, Carol didn't need to deliberate before deciding that it wasn't a blue catfish or channel catfish, but the cuckoo variety. "Really?" Bradley exclaimed in disbelief, but seconds later, furniture restorer Carol and Chaser Darragh were revealed to be correct.
"What do I know about this show? Absolutely nothing!" he joked. The cuckoo catfish is also said to be able to lay eggs without any male participation, before collecting them in her mouth and fertilising them there with sperm from her partner.
It is claimed online that the "brood parasite", which is endemic to Africa's Great Rift Valley, can be aggressive and murderous too. Bradley was left stunned, joking that he'd thought the quiz question was a "red herring" - or, of course, a "red catfish".

Just a moment later, time was up for Carol, despite her quick thinking with the catfish question - and she was eliminated from the competition.
Solemnly telling her that her "chase was over", Bradley next welcomed Rhiannon - a 25-year-old who'd launched her own PR agency.
The intrigued TV host asked if she had a lot of celebrity clients, only for her to cheekily shoot back that there was a place for him on her books.
"No, I don't work with celebrities] - well, not unless you'd like to add yourself to the books, Bradley!" she told him, joking that she was sure they could sort something out.

However, moments later, Darragh quipped: "Brad doesn't need any PR - he's more in need of one of Carol's restorations!" This was in reference to the previous contestant's furniture repair job.
She'd revealed that she took "ugly things" and transformed them into something beautiful.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
