Former This Morning star Dr Ranj Singh, 44, has taken to social media to address his medical license after a user suggested he'd be "stripped of it" in a public X post.
On Wednesday, Dr Ranj retweeted a post in which a user speculated he'd been "stripped" of his license to set the record straight.
The television doctor penned in response to the claim: "What this absolute dimwit doesn’t know is that I put my licence to practise on hold earlier this year because I’m not doing any clinical work this year.
"This is absolutely OK for doctors to do. Not quite the scoop you thought, is it?"
The Morning Live star wrote in a separate tweet: "I put my licence to practise on hold earlier this year, as is any doctor’s right, because I’m not doing clinical work this year. No other reason. And I’m still very much a registered doctor. You attention-seeking dipsh*t x."
However, the website has recorded he was registered with a licence to practice from November 16, 2019 to May 13, 2024.
A spokesperson for Dr Ranj confirmed with Express.co.uk: "Dr Ranj has categorically not lost his medical license. As he has stated on social media, he put his license to practise on hold earlier this year because he is currently taking some time off from clinical work to pursue other projects, which any doctor is entitled to do.
"There is no other reason involved whatsoever and he remains a GMC-registered doctor."
