Friday's instalment of BBC Breakfast was hosted by Charlie Stayt and stand-in host Nina Warhurst as they presented the latest news.
Charlie Stayt apologises for interrupting energy secretary
During Friday's episode of BBC Breakfast, host Charlie Stayt was forced to apologise to Energy Secretary Clare Coutinho for "interrupting" her after speaking over one another in an interview.
Charlie, 61, was joined by the Claire via video link as they discussed the energy price cap and the cost of living crisis on the morning programme.
As Claire was mid-sentence, Charlie began interrupting her before saying: "My question here is more in a practical way, my apologies for interrupting, I just wanted to secure this in relation to domestic bills first.
"Given that we're in a general election situation, what people might want from you as energy minister is some kind of reassurance that the bills won't go up again, but you are unable to do that."
Claire responded: "But no political party will be able to do that. But what I can say is that there's two things, what energy you're putting into the system and we're committed to putting cheap energy into the system."

Charlie continued with the tough questions as he said: "Many people who will be looking at this election campaign will be wondering where the Conservative party are in relation to climate change and concerns about the enviroment.
"Your record now is that you are lukewarm on issues surrounding the planet, Rishi Sunak has rode back on a number of key elements, this is evidence either by policies that have been withdrawn or delayed."
Claire explained: "Well firstly let's look at the record, no other major country, if you look at the top ten largest countries in the world, no other country has done as much as us when it comes to climate change."
Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their opinions as one person said: "#bbcbreakfast if we are going to compare ourselves to other countries let's look at our energy bills. What's the price per unit in France, Spain, Ireland.
