Homes Under the Hammer: Clapham property transformed
Jacqui Joseph had "high hopes" for a property that was in a sought-after area in London. The 51-year-old headed to Clapham when she was met with a Victorian three-bedroom flat.
The Homes and Under the Hammer star fell in love with its curbside appearance and was quick to point out her thoughts before even entering the property. Jacqui was delighted to find out that due to it being a conversion the new owners would own part of the freehold.
“Although this property comes with a hefty guide price it’s a substantial and spacious three-bedroom flat in a sought-after area in London. I think this could make a fabulous home for someone," she said.
Unlike most of the properties on the BBC show this comes with a huge guide price at the auction. Initially, the owners thought they might pick it up for £620,000 but it sold for £710,000 in February 2023.
The host caught up with mother and daughter duo Lyndsey and Daisy after they signed on the dotted line and was pleased to hear of their renovation ideas. Interior designer Lyndsey revealed that she wanted to store some of the home's original features and would not be scraping on the budget.
Three months later the team returned and were welcomed to a transformed abode which looked world's apart from its former state.
The living room looked breathtaking as it was bright and airy, with some of its features restored. From top to bottom, the women carefully thought out the renovations.
Lyndsy also decided to add in the home's original tiled flooring while installing the circle ring light fixings in all of the rooms.
Before admitting that she was over the moon that after "hunting high and low" for the iron fireplace that was made the same year as the house.
The property boasted class and elegance that was reflected in the high-end work and furnishings that were picked out.
They opted for a stylish modern kitchen that featured marble work tops but decided against the rear extension.

Daisy was heard saying: "Originally we were going to do an extension it would have given a little bit in length but also in width, but decided we were not going to do that when we discussed some people the price. It was really expensive."
Instead, they utilised the garden area which would allow them to enjoy the patch of grennery while also creating a new laundry space.
After seeking a range of different estimates from agents the women were told to expect offers over £1 million if they were to sell the home.
