Carol Vorderman issues apology and health update as absence from LBC show sparks concern
Carol Vorderman has revealed she will not be presenting her usual slot on LBC today due to ill health, meaning that the radio station has been forced to find a last-minute replacement to step in.
Former Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman has announced she will be absent from her show on LBC today. The 63-year-old star has revealed she is unwell, admitting that “everything aches”.
Taking to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, she shared the important update with her 980,000 followers. Carol penned: “Morning lovelies.
“Woke to feeling quite a bit poorly today so not going to make it to London for my @lbc show. Had some cracking subjects for you too.” (sic)
Luckily her colleague, This Morning star Vanessa Feltz, will be stepping in to take the 3-6pm slot. Carol continued: “Vanessa will be sitting in for me today. I'll be back next Sunday. Sorry xx.
“Everything aches (Can I blame the Tories?)” she then cheekily added with a winking emoji. Carol has been vocal about her contempt for the Conservative Party in the past, actively campaigning for Labour to replace them in the upcoming general election.

Concerned fans took to the comments section to send Carol messages of support, with one telling her: “We can blame the Tories for most things of late so why not?
“Hope you’re feeling well very soon lovely,” they added with a heart emoji.
“Get well soon queen,” another commented, as one more wrote: “Oh dear, get well soon and do test for covid. Xxx” (sic)
“Get well soon you wonderful human, your country needs you!” a fourth added with a laughing emoji.

Carol has garnered plenty of attention for voicing her political views in recent months, facing praise and backlash in equal measure.
Last year, she departed her BBC Radio Wales job after breaking BBC guidelines with vocal attacks against the government on social media, but has since found a new home on LBC.
