All the stars Miriam Margolyes has slammed - from Lily Allen to ‘smelly’ Leonardo DiCaprio

Miriam Margolyes certainly hasn't held back when it came to revealing her thoughts and feelings about Hollywood stars.

The 82-year-old actress has become famous for her witty humour and one-liners, and regularly leaves fans in stitches thanks to her expletive-laden stories and jokes, often at her own expense.

But the Harry Potter star also has no fear when it comes to dishing her brutal opinion on the world of showbiz - even when it comes to popular stars - lik Hollywood heart-throb Leonardo DiCaprio and rock legend Mick Jagger.

During an appearance on This Morning back in 2022, Miriam blasted Leonardo, 49, as "smelly" as she recalled working alongside him in the 1996 Baz Luhrmann adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

Miriam left the hosts with their jaws on the floor when she affirmed: "He was a bit smelly because it was very hot in Mexico and young boys don't make themselves fragrant, they don't wash all the bits!"

She also admitted that she had told one of the This Morning production team to look into their personal hygiene, leaving Holly and Phil cringing on the sofa.

And it's not just Leonardo and an innocent This Morning team member who have had to deal with the wrath of Miriam's "potty mouth", as the Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick has also been dealt a few blows in his time.

In her memoir, Oh Miriam! Stories from an Extraordinary Life, the actress went on to blast the rock star in a chapter called Always Be A C***.

In said chapter, she went on to call Mick a "miserable c**t" after they met backstage - while admitting that she didn't like his music.

Around 20 years ago, she appeared on stage with his then-girlfriend Sophie Dahl in The Vagina Monologues, and Mick would often pop in to watch some of the shows.

Miriam recalled: "He used to come backstage and he was just a miserable c**t. He was unfriendly, and I don’t think he treated her very well.

"He was much older than her and I thought he was up himself. I never listen to that kind of music anyway. I’m a musical snob, so I wasn’t impressed by him."

The Call The Midwife actress has also taken a swipe at a star closer to home too.

During an appearance at the Hay Festival over the weekend, Miriam went to town on the subject of stars she just simply can't stand - with Lily Allen's name being brought up frequently in the discussion.

She explained how she has been a regular on the Graham Norton Show sofa over the years - but admitted that the singer was the only fellow guest she has actively "disliked", fuming: "She thought when she was on the programme that it was all about her," when they were both star guests on the show in 2014.

Miriam continued: "She thought: 'Who is this woman? Miriam who?' She wasn’t friendly and I didn’t like that and so I showed my dislike, which wasn’t very nice of me because she was much younger than me and I should have just taught her how to behave."
