Emmerdale couple torn apart as Dingle favourite leaves the village
Emmerdale's Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk's marriage has been on the rocks for months after her betrayal.
Emmerdale seemed to confirm the exit of Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) on Wednesday after he and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) came to blows once again.
Earlier this year, Marlon was left reeling when Rhona dropped a bombshell during her legal battle with ex-husband Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna).
Both men were caught unawares as Rhona turned on her former husband in court - "unable to lie for him" following months of torment. Her weighty testimony likely influenced his harsh sentencing, resulting in an eight-year prison term and being led away by officers.
Rhona's severe revelation sent shockwaves through the villagers and caused great instability in her marriage to Marlon. Before the court proceedings, Rhona had agreed to present a victim impact statement, which potentially could have offered Gus a more lenient sentence - especially since he had already completed paperwork, granting them access to baby Ivy.
The charges against Gus stemmed from his use of frozen embryos that belonged to Rhona and him from their earlier marriage years ago, without Rhona's permission. She assumed they had been discarded decades before and when Gus informed his new wife Lucy about his intentions to utilise them, she vehemently opposed it.

However, he deceitfully used Rhona's signature and sadly, Lucy perished during Ivy's birth.
Rhona has been eager to raise her biological daughter since then, but Gus attempted to escape to France with Ivy without Rhona's knowledge, leading to Rhona taking her.
Their fight over Ivy led to Rhona being charged with kidnapping before finally being acquitted while Gus was sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud.
Marlon has had a hard time dealing with Rhona's court betrayal and last month the pair had a massive argument where Rhona seemingly ended their marriage in front of their friends. Since then, they have tried to resolve their issues, even attending couples therapy, but things didn't look promising on Wednesday.

Emmerdale: Rhona and Marlon argue in The Woolpack kitchen
Rhona was annoyed at Marlon's inability to move past their history and when she started discussing a potential christening for Ivy with vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), Marlon was enraged to find himself excluded from another significant decision.
Despite Rhona explaining the situation, Marlon was livid and threw a pan of food on the floor in anger.
In an attempt to lift his spirits, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) took Marlon on a camping trip. However, before leaving, Marlon dropped a shocker on Rhona.
Marlon stunned his estranged wife with the words: "I can't be under the same roof as you so I'm going camping with my mate because I need a break. While I'm away, let's have a think of this, me and you, can actually work because I'm really not sure anymore..." leaving Rhona utterly taken aback.
With their relationship hanging by a thread, fans are left wondering if this is the end of the road for them or if there's a chance for reconciliation.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
